Update on Permits: Re-opening of the Ministry of Interior & latest changes in immigration procedures for NON-EU Nationals

Following our previous alert published on February the 14th, 2017 please note that the Ministry of Interior started operating again.

Changes 

Please note the following changes in the procedure for the immigration compliances of the NON-EU nationals:

-A new stamp duty (code 4762) has been introduced- paid on behalf of each applicant- at Euro 16

-From now on, applicants will present themselves in person to the Ministry for biometric and fingerprints taking

-The issued permit will be in form of an independent card

-Following the deposit, a certificate of social security contribution clearance will need to be deposited.

Non-EU current holders of blue receipt/temporary permit

For non EU nationals who have already deposited their file and have been issued the blue receipt (but not yet issued the permit), the situation stands as follows:

-The Ministry will contact them and book an appointment for fingertip taking and biometric details (i.e passport photos)
