Arrival: Airport or Road
-Biometric passport: entry through all points (land and air).
-Non biometric passport: entry through all points; a transit visa is required.
-Without travel documents: entrance only from the Passport Control Department in Promahonas
-Non travel documents for children: National Police officials will note under the entry stamp the number of minor children; a certificate of marital status or a birth certificate of the children is necessary.
-None of the above documents: completion and submission of a solemn declaration stating the number of children, their first name, surname, gender and date of birth.
-Stay for 90 days.
-National Police will stamp your passport with the date of entry.
Health care
-Acceptance into public hospitals, treatment centers and clinics in Greece, on an emergency basis.
Provision of Temporary Protection
-Next month: launch of the issuance of the 12-month residence and work permit to Ukrainian nationals residing in Ukraine before 24/2/2022:
-Center-points: Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras and Heraklion:
a) pre-registration (electronically)
b) receipt of a 12-month residence ID
c) AMKA(social security numbers) and AFM(tax numbers) issuance for access to labor market and health care.
-Needed documents: will be announced in the coming days.
Accommodation
-Short-term hosting in the hosting structure of municipality Sintiki.
-Long-term hosting: submission of request to: ukraine@migration.gov.gr (a reply message will follow with instructions)
-Long-term hosting: Elefsina, Attica
Displaced persons
The Greek authorities do not undertake the transfer of displaced persons from the border entry points.
Temporary protection status-application in Greece
-Temporary protection status is granted to each EU Member State separately. Therefore, the status granted to Ukrainian nationals in Greece only applies to the family members entering with them and is not a residence permit in another EU Member State, regardless of whether they have a relative there.
-If Ukrainian nationals currently are or reside in another Member State, they will be granted status there.
-The application and granting of temporary protection status is made only after entering Greece, exclusively by the individual concerned in person and not through a representative or proxy.
Public Education:
Access to the public education system is free for children. Enrolment is done directly at the school in the region where they will reside.
Vaccination
Entitlement to start and/or complete vaccination, free of charge at any vaccination center in the country after the receipt of the special temporary protection card, on which their AMKA (Social Security Number) will be recorded.
Updated information:
–28th March 2022: Launch of the electronic pre-registration platform where Ukrainian nationals will declare their basic information and book an appointment at the Asylum Service Offices.
–4th April 2022: Launch of the process for the provision of temporary protection at the Regional Asylum Offices of Thessaloniki, Attica, Patras and Crete:
Receipt of the residence permit;
Biometrics and photos will be taken;
Tax registration number (AFM) and social security numbers (AMKA/AMA) will be included to the residence permit.
