Upcoming changes on stamp duties for NON-EU nationals-introduction of a unified stamp duty
In Greece the introduction of a unified stamp duty for some Non-EU categories of permits is taking place (Law has been voted -June the 5th– and will be in force from September 2018 onwards).
Euro 150 is the new fee. More specifically please find below the applicable changes in the categories most followed for international assignees:
-Senior Managers (currently at Euro 300 per initial permit)
-Family members (currently at Euro 300 per initial permit)
-Public Interest purposes based on bilateral agreement (currently at Euro 150 per year)
Other categories:
-Researches
-Students
-Blue card
-Dependent employment (“Metaklisi”)
-Long term residents
On the other hand, in some categories the fee of the stamd duty will be increased. Namely:
-Independent economic activity: Currently at Euro 300 for a 2-year permit to be changed to Euro 1.000
-Investors: Currently at Euro 500 for 5-year permit to be changed to Euro 2.000
-Owners of property in Greece Currently at Euro 500 for 5-year permit to be changed to Euro 2.000
Delayed submissions:
Further to the above, for the delayed submitted applications for the granting or the renewal of a permit (for any permit category) the penalty fee will be increased from Euro 50 to Euro 100.
