Need to enter Greece?

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PASSENGERS ON DOMESTIC FLIGHTS TO ISLAND DESTINATIONS

All passengers on domestic flights to island destinations must meet one of the following conditions:
a) to have completed  the vaccination for coronavirus COVID-19 at least fourteen (14) days before arrival  and to present a vaccination certificate, which has been issued through the website https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/ugeia-kai-pronoia/koronoios -covid-19 / pistopoietiko-emboliasmou. In  case of foreigners  from abroad, to have completed  the COVID-19 coronavirus vaccination at least fourteen (14) days before arrival  and present a vaccination certificate, in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Russian, issued by a public authority in accordance with the relevant legislation. The vaccination certificate includes the name of the person, the type of vaccine given and the number of doses.
b) to display a negative molecular test (PCR) for COVID-19, performed by taking an oropharyngeal or  nasopharyngeal smear, up to 72 hours  before the scheduled travel time or a rapid antigen test for COVID-19  (rapid test) performed  forty eight (48) hours before the scheduled travel time. In  case of foreigners from abroad, they can provide a negative test certificate in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Russian.
c) to present proof of recovery from COVID-19 ,valid as of two months afer positive PCR or antigen test up to 9 months.

d) present the EU Digital Covid 19 Certificate


The above obligations include  children  over the age of twelve (12).

Children from 12-17 will need to carry a negative self test up to (24) hours before travel time.
The negative diagnosis of the test with the method of PCR and rapid test is proved by the demonstration of a relevant certificate in paper or electronically. If these checks have been carried out abroad and are valid at the time of boarding the aircraft, the relevant certificates are accepted under the same conditions under which they were allowed to enter Greece.
Checking of the above documents is carried out by the employees of the airlines during  boarding.
Passengers and crew members are obliged before boarding, during the flight and passengers’ disembarking , to comply with all other measures for prevention and treatment of COVID-19 cases , which are published in the site of HCAA,http:// www.ypa.gr/news.

AIR

Greece complies with the list composed by the EU+ regarding the countries from which passengers can travel from without restrictions. (exceptions apply for imperative family or business reasons / contact us for more information)

*EU+ consists of the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, Lichtenstein and Iceland.

Traveleres coming to Greece from abroad should:

  1. have a negative PCR test from a diagnostic laboratory. The test has to be conducted no later than 72 hours before arrival. This test is mandatory for all tourists (including children over the age of 5), regardless of the epidemiological situation prevalent in the country of departure.
  2. Have completed their vaccination (i.e. 14 days have elapsed since the last vaccination, depending on the doses required) and is in a position to confirm it by presenting the relevant vaccination certificate, then proof of a negative test is not required.
  3. Hold a certificate of recovery from a public health authority which is issued 30 days after the first check and will be valid for 180 days after the positive result.
  4. Digital or printed version of the EU digital COVID certificate

Travellers entering the country from EU+ and the following 34 countries: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Bosnia Herzegovina, Brunei, Canada, China, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kosovo, Kuweit, Lebanon, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Moldova, the principality of Monaco, Montenegro, Qatar, Russia, San Marino, Saoudi Arabia, Singapore, Serbia, South Korea, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA & Vatican who have either a negative result of a PCR or a rapid test, 72 hours and 48 hours prior to their arrival to Greece, a certificate of vaccination or a recovery certificate can enter the country.

All travellers entering from Russia must carry a negative PCR or rapid test 72 or 48 hours prior their arrival irrespective of their vaccination and they will be subjected to a COVID test upon their arrival.

The Passenger Locator Form (PLF) remains a key element in the planning. All travellers are obliged to complete their PLF before arriving to Greece, providing detailed information on their point of departure, the duration of previous stays in other countries, and the address of your stay while in Greece. 

Sample rapid tests will be conducted. In case the test turns out positive the traveller will be on a quarantine for 10 days if not vaccinated and if the traveller is vaccinated the duration of the quarantine will be for 7 days. All passengers will need to show a negative PCR in order to leave quarantine

Travellers entering the country from EU+, Albania, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Bosnia Herzegovina, Brunei, Canada, China, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kosovo, Kuweit, Lebanon, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Qatar, Russia, Saoudi Arabia, Singapore, Serbia, South Korea, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates & USA, who have either a negative result of a PCR or a rapid test, 72 hours and 48 hours prior to their arrival to Greece, a certificate of vaccination or a recovery certificate can enter the country.

All travellers entering from Russia must carry a negative PCR or rapid test 72 or 48 hours prior their arrival irrespective of their vaccination and they will be subjected to a COVID test upon their arrival.

LAND

Travelers can also enter the country from Promachonas, Ormeniou, Nimfaias, Evzonon, Nikis, Doiranis, Kastanion, Kipi, Kristalopigis, Exohis, Kakkavias, Mavromatiou entry points on a 24 hours basis

SEA

Cruising and yachting is allowed. Maritime connections with Turkey are temporarily restricted.

General notes

It is forbidden to enter hospitals as a visitor. In case there is a need to enter a hospital you can be escorted by only one person who needs a special authorization.

Important facts to keep in mind

  • A distance of 1,5-2 meters is still a requirement in all activities
  • Suspension of the ring in all city centers

General update

All public authorities either request booking of an  appointment or deliver their services remotely. For this reason delays in the finalization of services may occur

The Greek government has launched www.gov.gr from which citizens can access many services online. In this way the need for physical presence is eliminated. 

Two of the most common online services that this site offers are the authorization letter & the written declaration form leading to a refusal of the police departments to continue accepting citizens for issuing these forms. Operation of Immigration authorities

The Greek Government announced the extension of validity until 31.12.2021 of those residence permits and blue receipts issued:

-From 01.01.2020 to 31.07.2020 (the validity of which was automatically extended until 31.03.2021)

-From 01.08.2020 to 31.03.2021 (whose validity was automatically extended for 8 months from their initial expiration date)

-From 01.04.2021 to 30.12.2021

-Local public authorities

Greece has resumed some immigration services: 

o        Submission of initial and renewal work permit applications (appointment required);

o        Collection of approved permits (appointment required);

o        Submitting additional documents by courier for applications submitted incomplete prior to the pandemic; and

o        Change of status applications via courier. 

 The Ministry of Migration announced the alternative ways to either deliver all the additional documents that are needed in case of a permit request or pick up the issued permit. Contact us for more information
